From 18th to 21th June the Masters Programme in Cooperation, Development and NGDO Management, co-organised by ETEA, INTERMÓN OXFAM and ENTRECULTURAS, will count on the collaboration of Mr. Iñigo Retolaza, Adviser of the Democratic Dialogue Regional Project (PRDD)-UNPD in Bolivia and Guatemala, to give two training workshops in the framework of the masters.
On 27th May an informative session concerning the Agriculture Development Plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fishing (MAGAP) of Ecuador took place at the Meeting Centre of Guayaquil. In this context, a delegation consisting of Mr. Danilo Cueva, President of GAL CENTRE-NORTH, MR. Evaristo Calle, Representative of GAL SOUTH, and Ms. Alexandra Verduga, Representative of the ETEA Foundation in the north of Manabí, had an exclusive meeting with the Ministry of MAGAP, Mr. Walter Poveda.
Lorenzo Estepa and Luis Fernández Portillo, members of the ETEA Foundation team working on the project EXPIDER II (Innovative Experiences concerning Territory-based Development in Latin America), which is being developed in Venezuela since last year, have finished the last programming mission related to this project. The results have been successful, concluding with the creation of a Development Council in Abreu d´Lima and the Strategic Development Plan for the territory.
The ETEA Foundation, through its delegation in Nicaragua, has given to the majors of Rivas, San Juan del Sur, Moyogalpa and Tola, as well as the representatives of the Municipal Development Committees and members of the public sector of the country, detailed information about the new call for projects for grants in the framework of the Caixa Programme for Local Socioeconomic Development in Rivas. These projects must be related to business and social strengthening of the private and public-private sectors.
A competition of business initiatives has been organised in order to strengthen business capabilities of businessmen related to the micro and small-sized business sector. The purposes are the transfer of knowledge as well as to facilitate the economic inversion needed to start up a business.
